Abstract
We have developed a new tomographic scheme for coherent waves such as electrons and X-rays that is more general than the usual filtered backprojection scheme in the sense that it also includes the propagation of the waves from the point of interaction to the plane of detection (focus effect). In this way, this "filtered backprojection" method can be applied to high resolution electron tomography of objects, where it corrects for the changes in imaging conditions (focus) at different positions of the film, so as to push the resolution to the Angstrom level.
