Abstract
Since Electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI) has the attractive merits such as non-contact, full-field, highly sensitive, etc., it has been a powerful tool for the measurement in practice, especially for the object with diffuse surface. In this chapter, the optical theories of ESPI including static and vibration measurements will first be introduced. Then the different optical arrangements in ESPI will be described and their advantages and disadvantages will be compared. Finally, some examples of ESPI respectively applied in-plane, out-of-plane and vibration measurements will be given. © 2012 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
