摘要
In the study, a plant-wide process for epichlorohydrin synthesis by the epoxidation of allyl chloride with hydrogen peroxide over the catalyst of titanium silicate 1 in the presence of methanol is designed to satisfy the requirements of product purities and solve the gas-phase safety problem from the large exothermic decomposition potential (to water and oxygen) of hydrogen peroxide. The plant-wide process includes one plug flow reactor, one distillation column, two strippers, and one decanter. Two streams of nitrogen gas are fed into the column top and gas vent line, respectively, for safety concerns. High-purity ECH and water can be obtained from the bottoms of two strippers, respectively. In addition, the temperature control strategy is designed by steady-state analysis and set points of temperature loops are reset to maintain product purities. Dynamic simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy can not only maintain product purities around designed values but also assure the control conditions of gas-phase safety in face of reactant feed flow disturbances.
