Abstract
The formation of noble metal-based hybrid nanoparticles (NPs) is attractive for a variety of therapeutic applications, including biosensing, bioimaging, targeted drug delivery, antibacterial treatment, and hyperthermal therapy. Developing a suitable method for systematic synthesis and characterization of the hybrid NP on demand is critical to success. This chapter reviews recent advances of gas-phase evaporation-induced self-assembly for the controlled synthesis of noble metal-based hybrid NPs, with a direct gas-phase electrophoretic analyses for the real-time characterization of the synthesized NP.
