In this study, we developed fL droplet shooter as mass spectrometry (MS) interface which enabled to shoot 700 fL sample droplets into MS at kHz without sample loss by controlling their trajectories. MS signal with a frequency corresponding to the frequency of droplet shooting was obtained, therefore, MS detection at 100%-sample injection was verified. The signal intensity was enhanced 15 times that of the 8 pL droplet shooter in the previous report. The developed MS interface will contribute to ultrasmall analytical applications exploiting nanofluidics such as single-cell proteomics.
