Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a simple doubled-sided multiband direct-detection optical OFDM receiving system. An aggregated 172.8-Gb/s data rate and a 2.73-b/s/Hz spectral efficiency of total 6 signal bands are carried by one optical carrier. © 2013 IEICE.
