Abstract

Mobile health care has been greatly emphasized nowadays. This paper presents a system composed of pulse oximetry and low complexity baseband transceiver. The technique of adaptive filter is employed to reduce motion artifact effect. In addition, normalized least mean squares (NLMS) algorithm using an isobestic wavelength(800nm) as noise reference is used for noise cancellation. The proposed transceiver features low-power data transmitting and receiving to meet the power specification of mobile devices. A novel adaptive serial search acquisition, which updates detection threshold adaptively, is utilized to optimize power efficiency. This system monitors blood oxygen saturation and wirelessly transmits the detected signal. Experiment results demonstrate the noise cancellation and power efficiency of the system. © 2012 IEEE.
