Abstract
Systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) is a complicated and time-consuming process which requires several iterative rounds to screen aptamers with high specificity and affinity. In this work, a new automatic SELEX platform was developed to select aptamers specific towards an important biomarker, human neutrophil peptide 1-3 (HNP 1-3), for diagnosis of joint infection. Promising aptamer candidates that can be targeted against HNP 1-3 were successfully selected, which could be applied as an artificial antibody.
