Abstract
In this study, the proposed antibiotic biosensors integrate molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) with piezoelectric polymer acoustic transceiver to detect antibiotic drug at ppb-level in one single microfluidic detection step and dramatically enhance sensitivity and sensing procedure. Previously, we have reported the sticker microfluidic chips with on-chip piezoelectric ultrasonic transceiver array without recognition elements at the IEEE Sensor 2015 conference [1]. In this work, we further develop electro-polymerization process to deposit MIP on P(VDF-TrFE) acoustic sensors, which provide specificity and selectivity for doxycycline samples at ppb levels.
