Abstract

In this paper, we propose a low-complexity distributed power control scheme with adaptive interference suppression for direct-sequence code-division multiple access wireless communication systems. The proposed method can be regarded as an improved version of the adaptive power control scheme presented recently by Wang et al. In the proposed structure, a new strategy is developed for estimating the required parameters for power control such that extra power consumption due to improper measuring can be alleviated. Computer simulation results support that the improved power control scheme performs much better than the original one, where both involve the same order of complexity. As compared to the complicated instantaneous minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) scheme presented by Ulukus and Yates, the proposed adaptive method achieves similar convergence performance but involves much less complexity.
