We demonstrate a prototype technique of our original idea of a living cell bank on chip by using a stimuli-sensitive hydrogel system, which integrates in-situ encapsulation, long-term preservation, and on-demand release of living cells on chip without routine off-chip supports, and therefore it would bring a revolutionary strategy for cell-based assays. © 2009 CBMS.
