Abstract
The biquadratic coupling through nano-oxide layers (NOL) in pinned layers of IrMn-based spin valves was presented. The biquadratic coupling between top and bottom pinned-Co 90 Fe 10 layers was observed by inserting plasma-oxidized Ni 80 Fe 20 -NOLs. It was suggested that the biquadratic coupling between pinned Co 90 Fe 10 layers through NOLs result from the coupling between Fe and Fe +3 oxides.
