Abstract
In this paper, we prove that Chi and Chen's computationally efficient fast kurtosis maximization algorithm (FKMA) can be applied to the design of a blind beamformer for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in the presence of multiple paths to combat co-channel interference in cellular wireless communications. A blind post-FFT beamforming algorithm is proposed that comprises data sequences (each from a single path) estimation using the FKMA followed by blind maximum ratio combining also using FKMA for obtaining path diversity. Finally, some simulation results are presented to support the efficacy of the proposed blind post-FFT beamforming algorithm for OFDM systems. © 2005 IEEE.
