Abstract

Engineering (all)
This paper proposes a novel noise-insensitive approach to blind channel estimation using Shalvi and Weinstein's (1994) blind deconvolution criteria. It is based on the relation between the associated equalizer and the nonblind minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalizer reported by Feng, Hsi and Chi (1999). As a by-product, the design of the MMSE equalizer is also presented without training phase. The proposed approach and the designed MMSE equalizer are then justified through computer simulation.
