Abstract
Dendritic cells/tumor fusions have shown to elicit anti-cancer immunity in different cancer types. However, poor quality and quantity of fused cells has limited the use of such vaccine for human cancer immunotherapy. We present here a novel microfluidic flip-chip capable of performing cell electrofusion. The proposed three-layered device uses hydrodynamic trap resistance model for efficient capturing. The cells are transferred to the wells by flipping the device where they are aligned and fused by AC signal and DC pulse respectively. We have achieved fusion efficiency of 72% in this research.
