Abstract

Alternating Direction Multipliers Method (ADMM) Average Consensus Distributed Interface Converters Droop Control Micro-Grid Power Sharing
Recent advocates of distributed multi-agent systems (MAS) have been widely adopted as promising solutions for micro-grid (MG) control and operations. In this paper, we propose an alternating direction multipliers method (ADMM) for consensus-based distributed droop control for proper real power and reactive power sharing. In comparison with the conventional first-order consensus method, this ADMM implementation can indeed reach the steady-state with better convergence rate and resilience to noises. In addition, the communication infrastructure required can be significantly reduced. Possible extensions of the proposed method to two variants, including consensus ADMM with double message exchange and unique message exchange, are also discussed. Real-time simulation studies of a micro-grid with strongly lossy impedances, in which the conventional decentralized droop control method can not work properly, are performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed ADMM consensus-based distributed droop control.
