An integrated radio-frequency identification (RFID) biosensing system to detect real-time concentrations of multiple cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) biomarkers was reported in this study. Capillary microfluidics, capacitive biosensors, capacitance-to-digital (CTD) readout circuit and radio-frequency (RF) module were integrated into one portable system which could 1) handle the self-driven fluid from patients to biosensors and 2) wirelessly transmit the concentration values of CVDs biomarkers to the users. The CVDs biomarkers could be analyzed within 6 min while only requiring 10 μL of plasma, indicating that this system can be served as a promising portable or wearable device for CVDs risk assessment and real-time monitoring.
