Abstract

In mobile radio environments, the shadowing effects corresponding to a mobile station (MS) vary with time and the received carrier-to-interference power ratio (CIR) changes accordingly. From the service quality prediction viewpoint, it is worthwhile to investigate the spatial correlation property of the received CIR. This paper focuses on investigating the spatial correlation property of the CIR for the down-link of CDMA systems. The probability density function and the outage probability of the predicted CIR, conditioning on the current received CIR, have been derived for performance evaluation and prediction. According to the simulation results, our proposed model can precisely characterize the spatial correlation property of the CIR. © 2008 IEEE.
