Abstract
The influence of the pretreatment process for catalyst on growth behavior of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and the electron field emission properties of these CNTs were systematically examined. The CNTs thus obtained can be turned on at a very low field (E 0 ≅ 1.33 V/μm), achieving a very large emission current density (J e ≅ 3.54 mA/cm 2 ) at 6.0 V/μm applied field.
