Abstract

The paper presents a study on the phase tracking of microwave signals to an optical clock utilizing an integrated-optic electro-optic modulator (IQM) as the optoelectronic harmonic mixer (OEHM). There is lower conversion loss in the IOM from the microwave to the intermediate frequency (IF). At frequencies higher than 3 dB bandwidth of the IOM and up to 94 GHz, phase tracking was observed to be possible along with laser diodes generating subpicosecond pulses.
