Abstract

Electrical and Electronic Engineering Physics and Astronomy (miscellaneous) Surfaces and Interfaces
Nanodiamonds doped with nitrogen were successfully synthesized by using urea/methanol saturated solution as nitrogen sources. The obtained films possessed good electron field emission properties and displayed a field emission capacity of 30.2μ Armstrong/cm -2 at a turnon field of 2.35V/μmeter and a work function of 118.2μArmstrong/cm. It was found that application of bias voltage and increasing the urea/methanol ratio in the gas mixture improved the field emission characteristics.
