Abstract

Bioengineering Chemical Engineering (miscellaneous)
This paper reports a novel method to detect miRNA by Raman and fluorescence signals simultaneously. Previously, we proposed nanomasking mechanism [1] for producing high aspect ratio nano-corrugated structures for SERS enhancement, meanwhile the high nanocorrugation structures also provide more specific surface area for containing fluorescent molecules, thus both SERS and Fluorescence can be enhanced simultaneously in the current study to identify miRNA for liquid biopsy application. Due to the highly enhanced sensitivity, this device can also detect dsDNA which has been considered very challenge in detection [2].
