Abstract

Active equalization of the three channels of an ultra-long haul transmission system is achieved by using a silica dense wavelength division multiplexer coupled to a dynamic feedback control circuit. The integration of the multiplexer and control circuit into the system enables the installation of a recirculating loop which reduces the output power differential to within only 1.0 dB.
