Abstract
In this study, we describe a method applied magnetic force and photoresponsive hydrogels for cell patterning. A magnetic microparticle- containing hydrogel stencil is first generated using the photolithography technique. This stencil can be remotely controlled with a magnet and used to define the area for cell adhesion in the cell culture dish or microfluidic system. Subsequently, generating heterotypic cell patterning and stacking cell sheets layer-by-layer for tissue reconstruction can be achieved with repeating the patterning process. We believe our magnetic hydrogel-based cell patterning method is a useful tool to generate cell sheet for drug screening and fundamental biology study.
