This abstract proposes the design and application of a high efficient micro-evaporator for methanol reformer system. The reformer system employs Steam Reforming Mode (SRM) to reform methanol and DI water in a volume ratio of 40:21.6 into hydrogen. Three different channel designs of the evaporator have been investigated, and found that the horizontally diverging cross-section channel shows the best performance with a thermal efficiency of 90.87% and a highest heat flux of 177.9kW/m , which is 15% higher than the traditional empty chamber design and suitable for the application of high efficient reformers.
