Abstract
This study demonstrates an integrated microfluidic system capable for circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) enrichment directly from whole blood. Stirring enhanced filtration could separate platelet-free plasma (PFP) from whole blood with a high filtrate flow rate and alleviate clogging issues. Circulating EVs could be further enriched from PFP by using magnetic bead based immunocapture utilizing a pneumatically driven micro-mixer for on-chip mixing. It offers a potential approach to enrich circulating EVs to be an indicator of human diseases for point-of-care diagnosis and monitoring.
