Abstract
The Internet of Things is usually designed, implemented and deployed in industrial segments, domestic habitats, and other clearly defined contexts for clearly identified users. The Smart City is a context that rivals all above in terms of diversity and requirements for ad-hoc usability, playfulness, and meaningful applications. This poster shows the outcomes of designing and building new IoT products for the CityBeacon platform in the context of a TU/e course on Design Thinking and user-centred design.
