Abstract

We discuss the fabrication and characterization of a new type of 80-μm large-core optical fiber. 10-Gb/s bit-error-rate measurements are performed showing an error-free 100-m connection link can be achieved with negligible power penalty. © 2011 National Sun Yat-Sen Univ.
