Abstract
The lattice matching consideration in pseudo-antiferromagnetically coupled (AFC) structure was discussed. AFC medium was found thermally more stable than conventional medium. The lattice mismatch was caused by the Ru-alloy layer, inserted into CoCr layers. The guidelines for the structural design of the AFC medium with improved signal-to-noise ratio were also described.
