Abstract

The preliminary liquidus projection of the ternary Sn-Co-Ni system is determined. No ternary compound is found. There are eight primary solidification phases: Sn, CoSn ₃ , CoSn ₂ , CoSn, (Ni,Co) ₃ Sn ₂ , (Ni,Co), Ni ₃ Sn and Ni ₃ Sn ₄ . More experimental measurements of the primary solidification phases and thermal analysis are needed. © 2012 IEEE.
