Abstract
In this paper, a novel low-cost optical microfluidic system with molecularly imprinted biosensors for anesthetic sensing has been designed, fabricated, successfully characterized. The low-cost optical microfluidic system with molecularly imprinted biosensors in this work has achieved a good linear response ranging from 0.25 ppm to 10 ppm. The specific binding of the microfabricated biosensor is up to 78%. The sensitivity of the microsystem with on-chip biosensors is 6.47 mV/ppm·mm 2 . While compared to large-scale conventional instruments, the developed microfluidic systems with molecularly imprinted biosensors have the advantages of compact size, high sensitivity, low cost, and fast response. © 2009 CBMS.
