Abstract
Measurements of the Higgs boson production cross section via Vector Boson Fusion (VBF) and associated WHWH production using H→WW∗→ℓνℓνH→WW∗→ℓνℓν decays are presented. The analyses use events produced in proton-proton collisions collected with the ATLAS detector at the LHC in 2015 and 2016. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.8fb−15.8fb−1 recorded at s√=13TeVs=13TeV. The total production cross sections are measured to be σVBF⋅BH→WW∗=1.4+0.9−0.7pbσVBF⋅BH→WW∗=1.4−0.7+0.9pb and σWH⋅BH→WW∗=0.9+1.3−1.2pbσWH⋅BH→WW∗=0.9−1.2+1.3pb. The ratios of the measured value to the expected value of the total production cross section times branching fraction for VBF and WHWH production, μVBFμVBF and μWHμWH, correspond to μVBF=1.7+1.1−0.9μVBF=1.7−0.9+1.1 and μWH=3.2+4.4−4.2μWH=3.2−4.2+4.4, assuming a Higgs boson mass of mH=125GeVmH=125GeV. Since the measurements are statistically limited, 95% confidence-level upper limits on the cross section times branching fraction of 3.0pb3.0pb and 3.3pb3.3pb are set for VBF and WHWH production, respectively.
