A micro FIA system for environmental analyses was developed. In the newly developed system, lateral diffusion in a segmented laminar flow was utilized to obtain a flat concentration profile along the longitudinal direction of a microchannel. As a result, the system could be applicable to multi-component analyses without changing position of the detector. © 2006 Society for Chemistry and Micro-Nano Systems.
