Abstract
The present study concerns with simulating the dynamic and Scalar field of a turbulent swirling co-axial jet by variants of eddy viscosity models. Flows with inlet swirl number, 0.41, were investigated. Detailed comparisons of the predicted results, measurements and large eddy simulations were presented to assess the merits of model variants. The predicted strength of the jet penetration is shown to affect the location of the central recirculation zone, and this has profound effect on the mixing of the scalar field.
