摘要
Experimental measurements of the thermo-optic effect of 3D printable polymer mixture in the terahertz region is performed. The UV-sensitive resin with 7.5% titanium dioxide is examined using a reflective terahertz time-domain spectroscopy system. Addition of metal oxide particles to the polymer base increases the refractive index of polymers. Additionally, the thermo-optical effect of polymer changed to varying degrees depending on the proportion of materials added. Besides, the design, fabrication, characterization of a 3D-printed thermo-optics terahertz phase plate base on this material is presented. The designed phase plate is composed of blazed gratings. The periodicity is 2.26mm and the thickness is 0.885mm. The phase plate is heated and cooled with the thermoelectric module (TE) to cause thermo-optics effect. The results would serve as a stepping stone for applications of 3D-printed terahertz thermally-controlled devices in the future.
