Abstract

Array Nanodroplets Photonic crystal Control and Systems Engineering
This paper reports a nanodroplet array for liquid photonic crystals using the nano-microchannel junction. Droplets with sizes lie between 5 μm to 350 nm are generated. The droplets have been assembled on-chip into crystal structure, yielding discrete diffraction patterns. The relative large droplet sizes can be determined by the diffraction patterns. When the droplet size is beyond the differaction limit, the bandgap of photonic crystal is proposed to detect it. Copyright © (2011) by the Chemical and Biological Microsystems Society.
