We study a nanoantenna-microcavity hybrid approach for synergistic hotspot enhancement. We demonstrate that coupling to the photonic crystal guided resonance boosts the hotspot intensity of the gold nanorod (AuNR) by at least 1 order of magnitude in comparison to the Fabry-Perot cavity enhanced (∼5×) AuNR.
