Abstract
The maleimide-based fluorescent polymers were simply synthesized from palladium catalyzed polycondensation of N-alkyl-3,4-bis (4-bromophenyl)maleimide with commercially available or readily prepared secondary aryldiamines. With judiciously selection of arylamine monomers, the red-shifting of the solid film fluorescence can be largely diminishing no more than 13 nm. Polymaleimides derivated from arylamines have the potential for red light-emitting polymer LEDs.
