Abstract
A novel and simple family of optical fiber Fabry-Perot temperature sensors capable of measuring temperature change and discerning the temperature rise from the temperature drop is proposed and demonstrated. A temperature sensitivity of 0. 34 fringes/cm- degree C has been obtained, in excellent agreement with the results reported by others. Further improvement of the thermal time constant has been noted.
