Abstract

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) Immunofluorescence staining Microfluidics Control and Systems Engineering
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is the second most common primary liver cancer. There are several existing biomarkers targeting liver cancer. However, none of them are specific to CCA. It is therefore challenging to diagnose CCA in the early stages. In this study, a new integrated microfluidic system was developed for rapid, on-chip cell capture and immunofluorescence (IF) staining with CCA specific biomarkers for CCA clinical diagnosis. Rare CCA cells were successfully captured and stained from clinical bile juice and whole blood.
