Abstract

Extracellular vesicles Isolation Microfluidics On-chip filtration Chemical Engineering (miscellaneous) Bioengineering
This study reports a vacuum-driven microfluidic filtration system which was capable for extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolation directly from whole blood. The design of double-layer filters and a micro-stirrer which generated continuous stirring improved the filtration efficiency and alleviated the particle clogging issue. Furthermore, the micro filtration system was integrated with a micro-mixer for EVs purification by utilizing anti-CD63 coated magnetic beads. It could be further used for exosome applications.
