Abstract
In this paper, we analyze a current-programmed controlled push-pull converter intended for space applications. The canonical small-signal model of the current-programmed currentfed push-pull power stage is formulated to facilitate the system design. An optimum slope of the stabilizing ramp which eliminates the inherent instability in this system is proposed. In the closed-loop controlled converter, an appropriate compensator is designed so that overall system is stable and meets the specifications. Computer simulation using the software packages MATLAB and Isspice, and experimental results will be employed to verify our theoretical work. In addition, the practical considerations in a prototype design are also discussed.
