We report pressure balance model at the liquid-liquid interface of a micro counter-current flow for phase separation was proposed and verified. We focused on balance between dynamic pressure difference of two phases and Laplace pressure due to interfacial tension. Dynamic pressure difference and Laplace pressure were evaluated by measuring dynamic contact angles and interfacial tension, and examining pressure loss. © 2006 Society for Chemistry and Micro-Nano Systems.
