Abstract
1988 North-Holland-The authors outline an approach to the design of a set of interactive tools for performance tuning of parallel algorithms that are being constructed at Indiana University. This work is, in part, a component of a larger project known as FAUST and, in part, related to the performance evaluation research being completed by researchers at CSRD at the University of Illinois. In the first section the authors describe a general set of tools that can help programmers analyze the global data flow structure of his algorithm. In the second section they consider the problem of estimating performance problems in real parallel programs
