Abstract

3D-microDiaylsis chip Circulating Tumor Cell Dialysis staining Chemical Engineering (miscellaneous) Bioengineering
The present study aims towards a gentler/faster sample-preparation/diagnostic procedure so as to not lose CTCs during the sample preparation and diagnosis process while keeping a rapid cell identification procedure with high cell viability. Conventional CTCs staining techniques are lengthy and include centrifugal procedure which is harmful for cell viability. An optimized Three-Dimensional Microwell dialysis (3D-microDialysis) chip is proposed in this study to perform gentle yet rapid fluorescence staining and removal process by dynamic diffusion-based flow procedures on CTCs and white blood cells without centrifuging. The stained cells can form a monolayer on the same chip for rapid image diagnosis afterward.
