摘要
Base station (BS) cooperation effectively enhances cellular network service quality. Traditional approaches that use fixed received signal strength (RSS) thresholds or predetermined number of cooperating BSs often yield limited benefits due to unnecessary cooperation or significant RSS disparities between cooperating BSs. This work examines an RSS ratio-based clustering scheme for optimizing BS cooperation. The RSS ratio provides a meaningful indicator of cooperation benefits while preventing excessive information repetition using multiple BSs. With the aid of stochastic geometry, we theoretically analyze the performance of RSS threshold based clustering, accounting for random BS placement and finite-resolution channel state information feedback for coherent joint transmission. Numerical results validate our analytical accuracy and demonstrate the advantages of RSS threshold based clustering compared with existing clustering approaches.
