Abstract

Blocking FOTS Protein microarrays SAMs Vapor deposition
This paper reports a simple and novel method for bio-blocking treatment to significantly reduce reaction time and cross contamination among probes, as well as enhancing recognition efficiency between probe and target proteins. The results verify that this process can carry out a great reduction of reaction time from hours to less than 10 minutes, significant enhancement of binding efficiency by 3-fold promotion because of the absence of the large molecules between protein binding sites, and great reduction of background noise by 3 folds compared to the conventional wet processes. This facile bio-blocking process is compatible to the current microarray substrates. © 2009 CBMS.
