A simulation study of the re-shaping process for the auto-cloned photonic crystals is presented. The re-shaping is achieved by deposition-etching on periodic substrate. By adjusting the angular-dependent etching curve, the saw-tooth topography can be achieved. © 2007 Optical Society of America.
