Abstract

We present a high-power, continuous-wave LT-GaAs plasmonic photomixer that utilizes plasmonic contact electrodes to offer significantly higher radiation powers compared to conventional non-plasmonic photomixers. We demonstrate a record-high radiation power of 17 μW at 1 THz with spectral characteristics determined by the optical pump laser linewidth and stability.
