Plants would suffer many different stresses during the growth process, and water stress would be the most common one. Fluorescence of the plant would be detected when the plant is and spatial resolution is developed in this study to measure the fluorescence of the cabbage seedlings. Chlorophyll fluorescence images were excited by bright blue LED. Fluorescence images of the cabbage seedlings captured by the system were analyzed to calculate the fluorescence index with water content and water potential. The fluorescence images could be obtained by the system and the fluorescence image intensity could be analyzed with water content and water potential of leafy vegetables. Fluorescence index (Fl) is also defined in this study, and there are good analysis results of this index. The prediction models of leaf water content and leaf water potential are developed with Fl.
